Feingold's Standing Boosted Among Voters

By FREDERIC J. FROMMER - Associated Press Writer

...A Newsweek poll taken March 16-17 found that 50 percent of those surveyed opposed censuring Bush while 42 percent supported it, but among Democrats, 60 percent favored the effort.

Feingold's resolution would censure the president for authorizing a warrantless surveillance program, which the senator contends is illegal. Co-sponsors are Democratic Sens. Tom Harkin of Iowa and Barbara Boxer of California....

Conservative Media hacks may try to make light of the call for Censure and Democratic politicians may be nervous about joining the effort, but Bush and the Republican Party are in deep deep trouble. The Newsweek poll showed Bush's job Rating at 36% while 50% Disapprove of the way he's handling terrorism and Homeland Security. What's more if the '06 election was held today, 50% would vote Democrat while only 39% would vote Republican.
