THE ATTACK ON PROSPERITY


The conservitarians have a fantasy of riches for all through less government and what they call "free markets". They seem to think that prosperity will settle on all of us like a gentle morning dew if only 'the government' will just give us those magic tax-cuts.

But the historical truth about unregulated capitalism is that it produces a few very wealthy captains-of-industry, a tiny middle class and the vast majority of the population working long hours for subsistence wages without any sort of security.

De-regulation has become a global phenomena and now it's destructive effects are beginning to show up worldwide.
