Ten years later...........

I think this story by Chris Hedges speaks to the profound sadness about where we find ourselves today.  The war criminals who orchestrated the immoral, illegal war continue to live the high lives.  Dead eye dark side dick got the best healthcare money can buy and a heart.  Their children are seen bringing commentary, as if they have qualifications.  The price we are going to end up paying in blood and treasure is on our descendants credit cards.  And the people who got to host this horror are paying and will pay forever.  Depleted (not) uranium = genocide.
I used to follow River on her blog, Baghdad Burning, to hear what was happening in her country.  The last post was October 22, 2007 as she started her life as a refugee in Syria.  I wonder where she is now.

and this interview with Raed Jarrar by Thom Hartmann

........I think this Young will die for our sins. He will die for a war that should never have been fought. He will die for the lies of politicians. He will die for war profiteers. He will die for thecareers of generals. He will die forey a cheerleader press. He will die for a complacent public that made war possible. He bore all this upon his body. He was crucified. And there are hundreds of thousands of other crucified bodies like his in Baghdad and Kandahar and Peshawar and Walter Reed medical center. Mangled bodies and corpses, broken dreams, unending grief, betrayal, corporate profit, these are the true products of war. Tomas Young is the face of war they do not want you to see.
