Bush - Trying to Run Out the Clock

Bush and company have no idea how to resolve the mess they have made of Iraq. At this point, their only goal is to run out the clock and leave the mess for the next Administration to deal with.

They have found a willing frontman in General Petraeus, who appears to care more about his political future than the troops he commands.

Bush's new best buddy House Minority Leader Boehner is also more interested in scoring political points than in the lives of our troops.

The surge will end in 2008, not because it has been effective, but because the Army lacks sufficient troops and faces a military readiness crisis.
