Online Video Program Offers Opportunity to Attend Denver Convention, Join Barack Obama on Campaign Trail as Member of Press Pool

DENVER – In keeping with its commitment to bring more people into the democratic process than ever before, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) today announced the launch of a national online video contest with YouTube – inviting Americans to respond to the question: "Why are you a Democrat in 2008?"

The winner of the 2008 Convention Video Program with YouTube, the leading online video community that allows people to discover, watch and share originally created videos, will attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August and see his or her winning video played before thousands of delegates, elected officials and other Convention guests. YouTube will also send the winner on the campaign trail for a day, where as a member of the traveling press pool, the winner will record a video documenting the daily activities of the Democratic nominee.

Governor Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, announced the program today in a video posted to the Convention's YouTube channel: youtube.com/demconvention.
