The election produced a progressive mandate. Conservatives can only scramble to shift the blame for the mess they made while in power and throw up roadblocks against repairing the economy they've nearly shattered.
Rank-'n'-file conservatives/Republicans are searching desparately for a way to explain away their support for crooked politicians and disastrous policies.
