The Future Is Blue

The younger generation is decidedly leaning to the Democratic Party... Pew Research says so.

Pew Research Center for the People & the Press
19 points - Young Democrats
A significant generational shift is occurring in the political allegiance of young voters, with a 19-point gap in party identification favoring the Democrats among those under age 30. Almost half of voters ages 18-29 identify as Democrats (45%) compared with 26% who identify as Republicans and 29% as independent. But it's not time to get cocky.

John Amato of Crooks & Liars recorded part of Howard Deans talk at the Netroots Nation "Yes We Can" party. [Howard Dean at Netroots Nation: Don't put politics on the shelf].

In his talk, Howard Dean pointed out how liberal Baby-boomers won big and then rested on their laurels, which lead to Conservatism getting a grasp on our Nation and nearly destroying it. Howard urges the younger generation to stay involved.

Clearly Howard is right about staying involved. The Right/conservatives may be out of power, but they haven't given up and they're not going away.

A post-partisan era is a nice dream, but both Party's have to decide to work together before that can really happen... And Republicans/conservatives aren't having any of that post-partisan stuff:

[Limbaugh: ‘I Hope Obama Fails’]
[BillO: 'This is not the time for ideology' -- so we must destroy the evil socialists of the left]

Conservatism is just a bump on the road to progress. Like Lucifer in Milton's Paradise Lost, they have lost the battle and their only consolation is to frustrate and corrupt the aims of the good people of this earth.

chekov said of progressives in 1890 that:

"there may only be 3 or 4 of us in one town now, but in future generations that number will grow... soon there will be many more of us than there are now."
