So what the H*%% does that mean?

Yesterday in a Seattle Times article about a "poor taste" item

offered for sale on the WA state Democrats website, State Rep. Doug Ericksen was quotes as saying:

State Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Bellingham, put out a news release Tuesday criticizing the Democrats for posting what he described as an "anti-Christian" symbol.

"It's just amazing that they have people sitting in their office who think that way," Ericksen said. "You would never see anything on a Republican Web site demeaning Judaism or the Islamic faith."

Articles in the Bellingham Herald and on the KGW-TV website cut it down to: "State Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Bellingham, called it an "anti-Christian" symbol."

Now I just gotta ask, what the hell is Doug saying?
Firstly, He's described something as "anti-Christian" that would more fittingly be called anti-pompous hypocrite. But that's not unexpected...

The puzzler is switching religions in mid-put-down: ["You would never see anything on a Republican Web site demeaning Judaism or the Islamic faith."].... Is he intimating that the Republican Party IS the Christian Party? How did Muslims and Jews get mixed up in this flap?

P.S. I see that WorldNutDaily has a garbled article about this 'sticker stink'.

I am the creator of the Fish which is stirring so much controversy.

It was actually created 1 1/2 yrs ago in response to this Administration's rejection of Kyoto, the support for more depredations on the Environment, for a war that has no end, for cutbacks in programs to the poor etc etc. All of these concerns have simply been reinforced over the past 2 weeks..our walking out of the Montreal environmental conference last weekend, Congress' cutbacks to the food stamp program....and the war?? Well....it goes on doesn't it??

I am a Christian and so, by definiton, a Democrat. It is counter-intuitive for the Creator to want to see His Creation destroyed, and so, if we can start a conversation on the Nature of Hypocrisy in this country, we have actually done a service.

I have no fear of being called a name. It is a child's response to react with vehemence, as has been the reaction from the fundamentalist wing. I would put it to you that the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse are not actually Horsemen, but the fundamentalist branch of the 4 main religions (Christianity, Judaism, Muslim & Hindi) of the World. Unfortunately, they are hell-bent on destroying what God has spent millions of years creating!!

The fact is that the Fish was taken out of context.....the packaging, which is why any product sells in the first place, has such radical phrases as "Blessed are the Peacemakers", "Thou shall not kill", "Love thy neighbor", "Armageddon outta here", "Who would Jesus bomb?", "Pro-Life?, Pro-War??", "Beware of False Profits!" etc etc etc. It can be viewed in its entirety at StickerGiant.com or EvolveFish.com....most other sites elect not to add the packaging, & so perhaps are intentionally trying to stir things up.

I do apologise to any who were hurt by the symbolism. It was & is still directed at those who need to be held accountable for the direction & suffering that is being caused in our name. To them? I offer no apology.

Thank you.
