NW Washington VA Clinic - Almost

This is great news - if nothing else happens to sidetrack the process. Senator Murray and Rep. Larsen have been working on getting this clinic for a long time. It's been tough since the Bush Administration doesn't give a damn about Veterans.

... R. James Nicholson, secretary for Veterans Affairs, wrote to U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Everett, Wednesday that the VA “has recognized that there is a need to locate an outpatient clinic in the northwestern region of Washington state.”

The VA will open the clinic “pending passage of a 2007 appropriations bill for VA,” Nicholson wrote. It will serve veterans in Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island counties as well as northern Snohomish County, he said. ...(full article)
