the myth of "clean" coal

I haven't been able to get this coal-clean coal myth off my mind after seeing the movie Burning the Future: Coal in America (an excellent short intro here) The environmental disaster as the coal is extracted is bad enough and the "clean coal" myth being sold adds insult to injury. I hear no leaders talking about the real direction we need to go....comsume less, conserve more. New technologies and renewable sources of energy are going to be absolutely essential, but we cannot continue our wasteful, unsustainable lifestyle and that is what is missing from the discussion. We are 5% of the world's population using 25% of the planet's resources.

Also needed in this discussion are the real costs of continuing to pursue coal, oil and nuclear for energy.
Thank you for saying it so eloquently Robert Kennedy Jr.
